Trauma and

Nervous System Healing

Specialties and Areas of Support

Therapy for stress, trauma, relationships, and the impact of carrying a great deal for a long time.

My work often supports thoughtful, high-responsibility individuals who appear capable on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or unlike themselves. Many are professionals, leaders, caregivers, or part of first responder families navigating chronic stress and relational strain.

Together, we work toward deeper understanding, nervous system regulation, and meaningful, lasting change… not simply getting through the week.

Trauma Therapy and Nervous System Healing

Trauma is not only about what happened. It is also about what your mind and body had to carry alone.

Past experiences can continue to shape emotional reactions, relationships, self-worth, safety, and daily stress responses long after the events themselves are over. Sometimes this looks obvious. Other times it appears as chronic anxiety, emotional numbness, people pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulty feeling fully at ease.

Using EMDR, somatic approaches, and trauma-informed therapy, we work toward deeper resolution… helping experiences become integrated rather than continually relived.

Areas often addressed include:

  • Childhood trauma and attachment wounds

  • Relational trauma

  • Chronic overwhelm and nervous system dysregulation

  • Shame and self-criticism

  • Hypervigilance or emotional shutdown

  • Difficult experiences that still feel emotionally “stuck”

  • “Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.”

    Peter Levine

  • “Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.”

    Gabor Mate’

  • “Lasting change requires the capacity to stay embodied while processing experience.”
